Describe your business:
We are a full-service general construction Team with a focus on commercial projects in hospitality, retail, health, and professional services. We believe the most important contact you’ll ever have with your customer comes the moment they step foot inside your doors- and we know what it takes to set a world-class standard where branded spaces come to life.
Describe the growth of your business between where you are now and where you started?
I started by working for 7 months with our Eastern Canada Team to absorb as many learnings as possible, before landing our first project in Calgary (Basil Box, Southcentre Mall) in July of 2019. From a challenging first experience being a sole multiple hat-wearing entrepreneur to now a Team of 4 taking on multiple projects in Calgary and Edmonton.
What are you most proud of as an entrepreneur?
Guiding Team members both personally and professionally. Witnessing them grow and enjoy the growth experience, are my most proud moments as an entrepreneur.
What is one of the most significant challenges that you have faced and overcome as an entrepreneur?
Being mentally prepared for the unknown of what’s coming next, and making sure I have the energy I need every day to take on what’s in front of me. I learned early on that your expectations cannot be set for what new challenges may be faced each and every day, and further, how they may affect me and my business. Overcoming this is still a work in progress but I’ve found success through routine mind growth activities and exercising which helps ensure I have the energy and mindset I need!
What is your mindset when it comes to running your business?
My mindset is collaborative and engaging. I love to challenge the status quo and be creative with new ideas on how to deal with what’s in front of us. Today’s problems are tomorrow’s solutions. No matter what comes our way always keep moving in a forward direction. Also, having a purpose in my own, and our individual Team members, minds as to why we do all that we do every day.
What are you hoping to gain from joining EO Calgary?
I hope to gain the knowledge and tools that help me to accelerate not only our business successes but our team members too. I hope to also become a better man all around for my personal life and family!
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who are looking to start and run their own business?
Feeling too comfortable to make a change of where you are now is normal. If you’re nervous to start something new it’s probably your gut feeling telling you it’s the right thing to do!
